TGT-PGT recruitment candidates agitation continues in UP, Directorate of Education office turned into police camp

Teachers preparing to become government teachers in Uttar Pradesh are on the streets these days, due to which candidates for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) Recruitment in UP are agitating with various demands. These agitating candidates have been busy in the office of the Director of Education at Prayagraj for the past few days. In this regard, the agitating candidates have announced an indefinite strike, in view of which the office of the Director of Education has been converted into a police camp.

Clash between police and agitating candidates

These days, TGT-PGT recruitment candidates in UP have gathered outside the Directorate of Education located in Prayagraj. There were several clashes between the protesting candidates and the police on Tuesday. The protesting candidates tried to enter the directorate of education office several times by removing the barricades. Due to which the police had to come forward for rescue. In such a situation, several scuffles took place between the candidates and the police outside the gate of the directorate of education office.

The strike has been going on for 17 days

TGT-PGT recruitment candidates are on strike in UP since last 17 days. Candidates were protesting in civil lines. The protesting candidates have now surrounded the premises of the Directorate of Education and are sitting on an indefinite strike outside it, after which the Directorate of Education has been turned into a police camp for security reasons. The agitating candidates have announced to continue the agitation till their demands are met. On September 5, 4 candidates started fasting unto death. On Tuesday, some candidates expressed their protest in the premises of the Directorate of Education by wearing kafaan.

Demand to enforce old rules

Aspirants of TGT-PGT recruitment in UP are demanding implementation of old rules. Candidates are protesting against this demand. The agitating candidates say that more than 7 lakh candidates are affected due to non-implementation of old recruitment rules. The candidates have also accused the government and administration of negligence. He has also announced that he will not resign from the office of Director of Education until his demands are met.
