As per trade analysts, L2: Empuraan earned approximately ₹28-30 crore worldwide on its third day. With this, the film’s total worldwide collection has reached a staggering ₹128.75 crore. The strong overseas performance has particularly surprised many, proving Mohanlal’s massive global fanbase.
A Part of the Blockbuster Lucifer Trilogy
L2: Empuraan is the second installment of the Lucifer trilogy, which started with the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The film is made on a grand budget of ₹180 crore and features Prithviraj Sukumaran both as a director and an actor.
Previously, Prithviraj’s film The Goat Life held the record for the highest Malayalam opening day collection with ₹8.95 crore. Meanwhile, Lucifer had opened with ₹6.10 crore back in 2019.
