The PM Internship Scheme is set to launch officially by September 2025, giving Indian youth a chance to gain real work experience in top companies and government ministries. Here’s all you need to know!
In a major push to empower the youth of India, the central government is preparing to officially roll out the PM Internship Scheme by September 2025. After the overwhelming response to the pilot phase launched in October 2024, the government is now aiming to make this initiative a full-scale annual program to provide real-world work experience to young individuals.
Originally launched as a 12-month pilot project, the PM Internship Scheme allowed young applicants to work with India’s top 500 companies, central ministries, and various government departments. The initiative gave students and diploma holders valuable hands-on experience beyond theoretical knowledge.
Deadline Extended to April 15
While the application deadline was earlier set for March 31, the government has now extended it to April 15, giving more candidates a chance to apply for the remaining positions. However, once the deadline passes, candidates will have to wait for the next cycle.
Mobile App Launched for Easy Access
To make the process more accessible, the government has also launched a PM Internship mobile app. The app is designed to help students register, track opportunities, and receive updates about the scheme with ease.
Key Highlights of the PM Internship Scheme:
- Full launch expected by September 2025
- Target to provide internships to 1.25 lakh youth in 2024–25
- Monthly stipend of ₹5,000 plus a one-time grant of ₹6,000
