BHIM MYUPI: In this era of digital payments, UPI has become an important part of our lives. But many times users face many problems due to payment being stopped, money being transferred to wrong place or autopathy related matters. To solve this confusion of customers, BHIM Payments app has taken a big step. NBSL, a subsidiary of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), launched an AI assistant called ‘MyUPI’ on September 22. This assistant was introduced at the Global FinTech Fest 2026. Now users will not need to fill long forms to express their problems.
MyUPI is not a common feature. This is a companion powered by artificial intelligence, which can talk to you. Currently it provides its service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Hindi, English, Telugu, Bengali as well as Tamil languages. If you want information about an old transaction or file a complaint, you can ask for help by typing in plain language. This feature will be readily available in the ‘Quick Action’ section of the BHIM app. After registering the complaint, you will also get a reference number, through which you can easily track the status of your complaint.
Nowadays the cases of online fraud are increasing rapidly. Keeping this in mind, ‘Pay Safe’ option has been provided in this new feature. Through this, before making payment, you can verify the person’s real name by entering their UPI ID or QR code. Apart from this, it also has a ‘safety switch’. If you ever feel that your phone has been stolen, your account has been tampered with or received a suspicious message, you can immediately block your bank account. This AI assistant will also alert you to new fraud methods.
Many times money is deducted from our account without entering PIN. Users don’t even know why this money was deducted. ‘MyUPI’ will give you complete information about all those commands (autopay). You may stop, restart or permanently cancel any automatic payment at your discretion. If you don’t want anyone to send money to your mobile number, you can also de-link your number from UPI. Additionally, it also has the option of ‘Transaction Replay’. If any of your previous payments failed, you can reprocess them with a new PIN. Even if the payment is made through another app.
This new feature may make some people question whether the AI itself will make payments. BHIM app has clarified that there is no compromise on security. No payment will be completed without entering the UPI PIN. Lalita Nataraj, MD and CEO, NPCI BHIM Services Ltd, says this new feature makes the app more reliable. This will enable the customers to take timely action without any fear by getting correct information. Preparations are also underway to add many other regional languages to this support.
