Central Government Employees: A very big and relief news has come out for lakhs of central government employees. If you are also working under the central government or are a pensioner, you will not have to wait much longer for your salary this month. The salary will be credited to your bank account before the scheduled time. The Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance has issued an important order in this regard. Under the new order issued, the employees will be paid the salary of September 2026 only on 25th. Normally the salary of government employees comes on the last working day of the month, but this time due to a major problem related to the bank, the government had to take this important step.

Why did the government take this decision?

The main reason behind the early payment of salaries is the upcoming bank strike. The Department of Financial Services has informed that a three-day nationwide bank strike is proposed from September 28 to September 30. Banking operations are likely to be completely affected in the last days of the month. If the salaries were to be released in such a situation, there was a danger of stalling of transactions and lakhs of employees would have to worry about their hard earned money. The government issued an official memorandum on September 23 keeping in mind that the employees do not face any financial hardship. The Postal Department of the Ministry of Communications has also issued strict instructions to its offices that in any case payment of salary should be completed by September 25.

Which will benefit the employees

This decision of the government is very broad which will benefit a large section of the society. This order applies to all Central Government employees. This includes the employees of Defense Sector, Postal Department, Telecommunication Department. Apart from this, the salary of the industrial employees working under the government will also be released on September 25. Not only the existing employees but also the serving pensioners will get direct benefit. Clear instructions have been given to banks and Pay and Accounts Office (PAO) regarding transfer of pension money to everyone’s account on 25th itself. The Finance Ministry has also requested the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to immediately circulate information about this new system to all paying bank branches.

What if there is a difference in salary?

Whenever a salary arrives early, some accounting misunderstandings arise. A question may arise in the minds of many employees that what if there is any difference in the calculation when they get paid early. The government has clarified the situation in this matter. The order clearly states that if any financial difference or adjustment is made due to this advance payment, it will be deducted or added from the salary of the next month i.e. October 2026. There will be no exceptions to this rule. The government has also explained to the employees that they should not consider this early money as any extra month’s salary or bonus. This is just your regular salary for the month of September, which is being released a few days earlier to avoid problems due to the strike.
