DU Announces 100% Fee Waiver Scheme, Know Which Students Will Benefit

There is a big update for students studying in Delhi University (DU). The Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Office of DU has announced the Financial Support Scheme (FSS) for the academic session 2026-27. It means that DU has announced its 100 percent fee waiver scheme for this session. However, not every student of DU will benefit from the 100 percent waiver scheme. For this some conditions have to be fulfilled.

Fee waiver scheme for UG-PG students

DU has announced financial aid scheme for academic session 2026-27. 100 percent fee is waived under this scheme. For example, under this scheme, fees are waived for students taking admission in full-time undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in various departments, institutes and centers of DU. According to the rules, students of SOL and NCWEB including B.Tech, Law from DU do not get the benefit of this scheme. At the same time, students with ‘Essential Revision’ (ER) status in any previous examination also do not get the benefit of fee waiver.

These students of DU will get the benefit of fee waiver scheme

DU waives the fees of students from low income group under its financial aid scheme. As per the prescribed rules, 100% fee waiver is given to students with annual family income up to Rs 4 lakh. However, a maximum of Rs. Fees upto 15,000 are waived only. Along with this, 50 percent waiver is given to students whose annual family income is up to 8 lakh rupees. However, only a maximum fee of Rs 10,000 has been waived.

These documents are required for the scheme

To avail DU’s fee waiver scheme, students will need some important documents, including annual family income certificate for the financial year 2025-26, copy of EWS/OBC-NCL certificate, self-attested copy of family’s latest income tax return (2025-26), previous examination mark sheet, latest passed bank receipt or fee check book. A self-attested copy is required.

Apply by October 13

The application process has started for availing the benefits of DU’s fee waiver scheme. Last date to apply is October 13, 2026. To apply, the form has to be printed. After filling it, you have to physically go to the DSW office and submit it.
