Why are the candidates protesting over the recruitment of teachers in UP, what are their demands?

Protests are ongoing by candidates over various demands related to the recruitment of teachers in Uttar Pradesh. In Prayagraj, competitive students sit on dharna at the office of the Director of Education, demanding implementation of the old rules of TGT-PGT recruitment. Then after the dispute of one mark in the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers, the eligible candidates are demanding the appointment. Also 68500 backward class candidates are seeking to clear the way for the pending appointments in Assistant Teacher Recruitment-2018. Candidates involved in various recruitments say that long pending cases should be disposed of soon.

Requirement of old rules in TGT-PGT recruitment

Agitation of competitive students regarding TGT-PGT recruitment in Prayagraj is going on. Candidates are protesting in the Directorate of Education premises. Many students were present at the protest site on Monday night as well. Their main demand is that old recruitment rules should be applied and candidates should be given chances based on that. Candidates say that the new rules have made changes related to educational qualification and recruitment process. Due to which candidates who have been preparing for the exam for a long time are affected. The students have sought an early solution by communicating with the administration.

The demand for appointment in the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers is fierce

Candidates are also protesting in Lucknow over the controversy related to one mark in the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers. The agitators are demanding appointment before the officials of the Basic Education Department. Candidates say that after the High Court order, some candidates became eligible due to increase of one mark, but they are yet to get appointment. According to the opponents, 2249 candidates were considered eligible. They allege that only one of these candidates has been appointed. Candidates are seeking to appoint all eligible candidates.

Recruitment case of 68500 Assistant Teacher

Candidates also demonstrated with their demands in 68500 Assistant Teacher Recruitment-2018. Backward class candidates demanded to clear the way for pending appointments. Candidates from various districts of the state staged a protest outside the house of the state Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh on Marys Road. Candidates from many districts including Mathura, Kasganj, Bareilly participated.
