Josh Allen Shares the Simple Nighttime Tradition He and Hailee Steinfeld Now Share

Buffalo, New York: Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld have settled into a new evening routine since welcoming their daughter, Harper Haize, in April, with the Buffalo Bills quarterback saying the couple turns to daily word games once their baby is nearly asleep.

Allen discussed the family’s routine during an Aug. 28 appearance on Mad Dog Sports Radio. He said he and Steinfeld are trying to limit screen exposure around their daughter because she quickly focuses on any nearby screen.

Once Harper is close to falling asleep, Allen said he and Steinfeld spend time together playing the New York Times crossword. They also complete the daily Connections and Wordle puzzles.

Allen described the games as “our little routine that we love doing.” He also revealed that his usual opening guess in Wordle is “harps,” spelling out the five-letter word during the interview.

The routine reflects a different rhythm for Allen and Steinfeld after becoming parents. The couple welcomed Harper in April, and Allen has spoken about how fatherhood has added new motivation to his football career.

In a separate interview, Allen said he now carries two Polaroid photographs in his wallet—one of Steinfeld and one of their daughter. He said he keeps the pictures with him at all times.

Allen and Steinfeld married in California in May 2025 after first being linked in 2023. Their daughter’s arrival has marked a new chapter for the couple while Allen prepares for another NFL season with Buffalo.
