Tigor retires, Tata Eris takes over! The new sedan launch will rival the Dzire

After a long wait, Tata Motors has finally launched the sub-compact sedan Eris in the Indian market. The price of which is 5.29 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The new Eris is a sedan based on the Tiago, which replaced the Tata Tiago. Let us tell you how powerful this car is with more features, cool styling and minimalistic interior.

Tata Aeris: Price

The base model Eros Smart is priced at Rs 5.29 lakh. The Smart variant does not offer the option of an AMG gearbox, while all other variant combinations offer the option of an AMT. Interestingly, each variant comes with all the powertrain options except the base Smart variant.

2026 Tata Aris: Exterior Design

Like the Tiago facelift, the Eris has made its entry with minimal styling. Its frontal area is characterized by slim LED headlights, which are joined by a black trim in the middle. At the bottom, there is also a bumper, with low air dams and LED fog lamps on either side. Not only this, air curtains are also provided on both sides of the bumper, which helps in better aero efficiency.

Viewed from the side, the Aris’ silhouette is similar to the current Tigor. At the rear, a coupe-like roofline gives the Eris a sporty look. At the same time, its front part looks like Tiago.

Looking at the rear, this compact sedan now has connected LED tail lamps. The wide and tall brake lamps borrowed from the Tigor have been retained, while the Eris gets a new shark fin antenna. This car comes in a total of 6 color options. Dandeli Drizzle, Nitro Crimson, Dune Glow, Daytona Grey, Pure Gray and Pristine White.

2026 Tata Eris: Features and Safety

The Eris offers a host of powerful features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, it also has a 6 speaker sound system. The driver also gets a segmented digital information display.

Apart from this, this car includes connected car technology, auto headlights, auto climate control, passive keyless entry with push-button start, ventilated front seats, cruise control, wireless charger and USB-C fast charging.

The safety kit includes 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mount, ABS with EBD, rear camera, parking sensors and rain sensing wipers. A new dashcam feature is also available in the Eris, which comes with a 360-degree camera system.

2026 Tata Air: Powertrain Options

The Eris is available in 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine options with CNG. Like other Tata cars, the Aris also has a dual-cylinder setup, which offers more space in the boot space. Tata has included paddle shifters in the AMT powertrain, which now makes it easier to manually control the gears.
