NSE Market Cap: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has achieved a new global status with its listing. As soon as it entered the stock market on Thursday, its market cap crossed 47 billion dollars i.e. about 4.5 lakh crore rupees. With this amazing figure, NSE has become the sixth largest stock exchange in the world. Its share on BSE is Rs. It closed at 1,818. Its issue price is Rs. 1,785, while its entry into the market was Rs. 1,800 was Investors have given a strong welcome to the listing. It is the largest exchange in the country in terms of total turnover.

Compete with the world’s top exchanges

If we look at the global market, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), ranks first with $87.8 billion. The Hong Kong exchange has a market cap of $63.6 billion, according to Bloomberg data. While Deutsche Börse is third on the list with $59.5 billion. Nasdaq was fourth with $53.3 billion. London Stock Exchange Group is in fifth place with a market cap of $53 billion. Now India’s NSE has made its strong position in this list.

The real reason for the high valuation

If we talk about size, the market base of NSE is definitely a bit smaller than the top exchanges of the world. Despite this, its price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple is one of the highest. The NSE is currently trading at a P/E of 43 times. The world’s top five exchanges trade at multiples of 25 to 30 times. While the range of top 10 exchanges is between 24 to 34 times. The reason behind this premium valuation is the company’s excellent EBITDA margin. NSE’s operating margin is 66.9 percent. This is very high in the range of 53-80 percent of the world’s top five exchanges. Investors are confident that the company’s earnings will increase significantly in the future.

Turnover will increase rapidly

India’s capital market is witnessing major structural changes. People’s income is constantly increasing. Now common citizens are investing their savings in the stock market instead of keeping them in banks. This increasing participation of retail investors is providing strong support to the market. According to a report by RedSeer, the turnover of Indian cash market is going to increase very fast. In FY 2026 it will be Rs. 280 lakh crore is estimated. At the same time, by FY 2030 it will grow at a rate of 14 to 16 percent annually to Rs. 473 to 507 lakh crores. These figures clearly show that the growth engine of NSE is going to run at full speed in the coming years.
