Nikon has launched its new Z5II C full-frame mirrorless camera in India. This FX-format camera comes with the company’s Z mount and has automatic features that make it easy to adjust camera settings while clicking photos.
15 different scene modes are provided in the camera. In addition, there is a separate button for Nikon’s special imaging recipes. With this recipe, users can directly use pre-made photo looks. This means there will be no need to change settings like aperture, shutter speed or ISO every time. Talking about video recording, the Nikon Z5II C can record 4K UHD video at up to 60fps. At the same time, there is an option to shoot full-HD videos at up to 120fps.
The camera body only variant of the Nikon Z5II C has been priced at Rs 1,39,995. It will go on sale in India from mid-October through Nikon stores. The camera will come in black and silver color options.
Nikon Z5II C has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display. From this screen, the user can do things like touch focus, click a photo and view the captured photo. The camera’s 15 scene modes can automatically adjust shooting settings according to different conditions. That is, whatever the subject or environment, the camera will try to change the necessary settings accordingly.
For video shooting, the camera supports 4K UHD up to 60fps. However, 1.5x cropping is applied in 4K/60p mode. Full-HD recording can be done at up to 120fps. The camera also has a slow-motion recording option. Videos can be viewed in 4x and 5x slow-motion playback depending on the recording settings selected.
To avoid confusion during video recording, Nikon has also provided a REC lamp and a red frame indicator in the camera. This allows the user to easily know that the camera is recording at that time.
The Nikon Z5II C has a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor. Along with this, the company’s EXPEED 7 image processing engine is available. The ISO range of the camera is from 100 to 64000.
It also has a film grain feature to give a different look to photos and videos. This can add a grainy and nostalgic look like an old film camera to photos and videos.
According to Nikon, the Z5II C’s autofocus system can recognize 10 different types of subjects. Its Auto mode can automatically adjust settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and autofocus by sensing the surrounding scene. The camera works on Nikon’s Z mount, so it can be used with the company’s Nikkor Z lens range.
For taking photos of fast-paced activities or moving subjects, it features continuous shooting up to around 14fps. The camera also has an AI-based autofocus system, which can simplify the process of focusing on different subjects.
For video creators, the Nikon Z5II C features 10-bit H.265 recording and Nikon’s N-Log format. The camera can also record 12-bit N-RAW video to an SD memory card. Apart from this the camera supports UVC/UAC. It can also be used for webcam or live streaming by connecting to a PC via USB.
The Nikon Z5II C supports Nikon Imaging Cloud, which helps manage data after shooting. There is also a facility to transfer photos from the camera to the smartphone.
At the same time, the imaging recipe can be saved in the camera and used as needed. A dedicated button provided for this helps to access this feature quickly. Overall, the Nikon Z5II C has a full-frame sensor, 4K video, fast shooting, AI autofocus, in-body stabilization and many automated features.
