The latest new movies streaming this weekend bring a mix of action, romance, comedy and family entertainment to Netflix, Prime Video and other major platforms. From Jason Statham’s action thriller Mutiny to the live-action Moana, the Sept. 11-13 lineup also includes several returning TV favorites and new original series.

Major New Movies Arriving This Weekend

Mutiny is one of the weekend’s notable movie releases. The Jason Statham action thriller follows Cole Reed, a former police officer turned bodyguard who is framed after his billionaire employer is killed. He ends up aboard a cargo ship and discovers the crew is involved in human trafficking. The movie is available digitally through Prime Video with a purchase.

Netflix also has Call My Agent! The Movie, a continuation of the French comedy-drama series. The story follows Andréa Martel as she attempts to direct her first movie after its leading actor drops out shortly before production, prompting her to reunite with former colleagues.

Another option is One Night Only, a romantic comedy starring Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner. The film centers on two single New Yorkers looking for something more meaningful during a night when premarital sex is temporarily legal. It is available digitally through Prime Video with a purchase.

Disney’s live-action Moana is also available digitally this weekend. The adventure follows Moana as she journeys beyond the reef with Maui to restore the stolen heart of the goddess Te Fiti. The film is available to purchase through Prime Video.

New Shows Add More Weekend Choices

The weekend lineup is not limited to movies. Peacock is debuting the second season of Saturday Night Live UK on Sunday, Sept. 13, with the returning cast tackling current news and pop culture through live sketches and musical performances.

Peacock is also streaming all 10 episodes of The Paper season 2. The workplace comedy returns to the newsroom of the Toledo Truth Teller, with Domhnall Gleeson leading the cast as editor-in-chief Ned Sampson.

Hulu has the fifth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, with five episodes available. Meanwhile, Apple TV is launching Last Seen, a mystery thriller about a former detective who receives an emergency call from a teenage girl he believes may be his daughter, who disappeared 11 years earlier.

Netflix rounds out the lineup with Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, a comedy-drama centered on a destination wedding where old relationship problems and family secrets resurface.
