AI Companies’ Appeal to United Nations – If we don’t control our technology, humanity will be at risk.

AI Threats to Humanity: These days everyone is using artificial intelligence i.e. AI, but have you ever thought that this technology can be a threat to us too. But now such voices are coming from the world of AI itself, warning governments and world leaders. Recently, heads of AI companies have expressed concern over its use without regulations.

At a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, the heads of AI companies said that if strong security regulations are not made for the development and use of this technology, it may be difficult to control it in the future. At the meeting, tech industry leaders including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei expressed concerns about AI. Amodei said, ‘If AI is not managed properly, I believe it can be a threat to all of humanity.’

‘Can lose control of future’

Altman also warned that AI could cause humans to lose control of the future. He said that the countries of the world should work together to create such a security system, so that even if AI becomes more powerful than necessary, it remains under human control. With the increasing use of AI, the biggest question now for the nation’s leaders is ‘Who will make life and death decisions, human or machine?’ There was a serious discussion on this issue in the United Nations meeting.

Appeal to make rules on the use of AI

AI experts also said that the world should create such rules to ensure that AI is not used to create biological weapons, cyber attacks or other dangerous activities. Also, there was a need to create international standards to examine the capabilities of AI models and their risks. There are particular concerns about the military use of AI. If AI in any weapon or military system gets too much freedom and makes a wrong decision, the consequences can be very serious.

There was a cyber attack on the medical report

However, the debate was not just about risk. The benefits of AI for humans were also put forward. AI can play a big role in better health services, research, education and empowering people. AI can also be used to gather information, identify threats and improve relief operations in times of war and crisis.

In the recent past, a cyber attack on 21 health clinics in Australia stole everything from patients’ names and addresses to Medicare numbers and medical reports, now leading legal efforts to prevent the company from selling them publicly or online. The company has more than 60 medical centers in Australia and more than five million people are connected to its services.
